Techno-trance with a breakbeat twist has always been at the heart of the x(eptional studio sound, but live is where they really start mixing it up. Their live sets are built of ‘movements’: intertwining mini-suites flowing seamlessly from dubbed up rhythms to delicate ambient soundscapes, soaring epic breakbeats and full on techno.

These 95-96 archive live recordings from shows at Lucid club nights around the Netherlands capture peak x(eptional, melding irresistible bang-on techno with subtle musicality.
